Vacancy

As a Warehouse Support Specialist at Arvato, you provide on-the-floor support to your team at the warehouse. You have a high level of responsibility to ensure the operation in the warehouse is efficient and operates at optimal performance. You do this by providing on-the-floor support as troubleshooter for the employees and Supervisors. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the logistics process to oversee all activities and processes within the department. When issues or challenges involving the orders, system or materials arise, you investigate what caused the problem and try to come up with a structural solution. While doing so, you communicate with your team, to keep them informed and gather useful information.

To solve the issues, you gather and analyze data: you assess stock levels, inventories, and resources, and communicate with different departments. In doing so, you identify the problem, and try to come up with a suitable solution. In addition, as a Warehouse Support Specialist you try to find ways to prevent the same issue from happening in the future.

"If you like to use your analytical and communicative skills to solve problems involving orders and deliveries in the warehouse, and you can easily communicate with different types of stakeholders, then this is a job for you."

During the day, you are mostly active on the warehouse floor. You communicate with customers and the Operations department, during physical meetings and via email. Other departments you consult with during the day are Quality and Service Delivery. To keep the different stakeholders up to date on important aspects, you prepare and send them standard reports.

You can work as a Warehouse Support Specialist in different teams, for example Inbound, Outbound and Quality & Inventory. Every team consists of a Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor, Line Leads and other colleagues like Troubleshooters and Warehouse Employees.

"There are products located in the wrong areas of the warehouse. The system says the products should not be there. How do you proceed?"

You receive an issue form that Operations created and assigned to you. You then check your SAP to make sure if the system says the products should be in stock or not.
By asking Operations to do an inventory check, you can determine your next step: do the Inventory Check and the stock records match? You also check the customer complaints, to see if there is a package that has not been shipped yet. If the inventory check does not match the stock records, then you make sure it is moved to the aisle where it belongs.
Since you do not only work on fixing the problem, but you also try to come up with structural solutions; you try to find out what the reason is behind the wrong placement. That way, you can make sure it will not happen again in the future.
Sometimes, you also discuss the outcome with your Supervisor. This mostly happens when large issues arise involving multiple stakeholders. In this case, the products have not negatively influenced the workflow, and therefore you only discuss it with the department involved.
